The Secrets to Serve Macarons at Your Wedding

With the help of famed French bakery, Ladurée, Colin Cowie Weddings has developed the ultimate guide to macarons for your wedding and we are sharing it with you today!
Wedding dessert trends are constantly changing and evolving, from cupcakes to individual wedding cakes to croquembouches and, at the top of our current list, macarons. To better understand this tiny treat, we’ve enlisted the help of famed French bakery, Laudreé, to give us their tips and tricks for serving macarons on your wedding day.
Since the mid-20th century, Louis Ernest Ladurée has been credited with the idea of creating a double macaron: two delicate macaron shells made of almond flower, sugar and egg whites joined together by ganache, flavored cream or jelly.  While the traditional cake served at Parisian weddings is the croquembouche- a pyramid made of round choux, macaron pyramids are wildly popular and exquisitely French!
Couples should order macarons 8 weeks in advance to ensure availability of products.
Ladurée is currently developing an e-commerce website that will enable shipment of macarons. In the meantime, lucky brides living in Miami and New York City can visit a Ladurée storefront. Anyone can also enlist executive pastry chef Jimmy LeClerc to make a custom cake on site! Sweet, non?
Macarons should be stored in the bottom section of your refrigerator for up to three days after purchase.
Macarons can be served individually, on gorgeous pyramids or fabulous golden trays.
There are so many flavors to choose from, but Laduree’s most popular (and delicious) flavors are vanilla, rose and pistachio, the latter of which was gifted at Monique Lhuillier’s Spring 2015 show
