Alice In Wonderland Quinceanera

Congratulations to a beautiful girl, Rose Juliette, on a beautiful Quinceanera celebration.  We loved the theme, vintage Alice in Wonderland and we get to share a few details here with you.  Rose and her mom chose a blush, gold and ivory theme color with accents of vintage Alice in Wonderland to bring the theme to life.  We designed her candy buffet table to match while Black Swan Florist added his magical touch with vintage vases for the centerpieces.  Here are a few details that we loved so much.  Enjoy!kjhg IMG_8048IMG_8086 IMG_8100 IMG_8125IMG_8045kfd

This is our favorite time of year, wedding season!  We have been busy prepping, planning, and meeting with our brides.  The latest wedding was one to remember.  Lori and Aldo met with Fiori The Flower Studio to bring to life their vision of their perfect wedding decor and what a beautiful day it was. We are in love with the modern look and feel of the decor with navy blue and accents of orange here and there.  Fiori The Flower Studio shipped in the most amazing fresh orchids, unlike any we have seen before.   Here are a few photos we took while we were setting up.  Congratulations Lori and Aldo on your wedding day!

Unique Table Numbers

Planning an event can be so much work, but so much fun at the same time. Thinking of all the details and coordinating everything so it works together and reflects your style is important. One of those details is the table numbers – those classic little beacons to help your guests know which table is theirs. There are so many ways to display table numbers these days that you are only limited by your imagination. We’ve put together some DIY ideas that will inspire you to show off your table numbers in interesting and creative ways.
The idea above, of the hostesses taking a photo of themselves holding each number is adorable. It adds a personal and whimsical touch!
Books get new life as they are standing upright with numbers attached to the front. An easy project to do with thrift store books and house numbers from the home improvement store.
For those who like games or just want to add a touch of nostalgia, use Scrabble tiles to spell out the table number.

Bottles can be used to display table numbers too. A simple way to use them is by hanging a number tag around the neck of the bottle. The “tag” can be made from card stock, mini chalkboard tags, or wood pieces.
Another idea is to place a bottle inside simple gift bags, and stencil on the numbers.
Stenciling can also be done directly onto the bottle. This way you can actually fill the bottle with water that guests can re-fill their glasses with.
Finally, you can use classic frames and dress them up. Use chalkboard spray paint to cover the board backing and write on it with chalk. These can be used over and over again!
You can also cover the board backing with decorative paper or fabric and attach painted wooden craft numbers with a glue gun. An easy project that can be done in just a few hours on a weekend.
We love all these ideas that are also easy DIY projects. With a little inspiration I’m sure you can let your imagination run wild and come up with your own personalized table numbers. Afterall, these little details add big style!

Create Your Own Candy & Dessert Buffet For Less

Who doesn’t love candy, right? Candy buffet tables are a fun event trend being used in different ways. Some hostesses just want to add some whimsy to their reception, while others have the candy buffet do double duty as the guest favors. Some people are opting out of serving an expensive cake altogether and putting their creativity into a candy and dessert table (while saving money, too). Whatever your reasons, your guests will love it, and you will love the look. Here’s a few tips and ideas to help you put on a cool and colorful candy buffet:
  • While it’s not a must, most people choose candy and desserts that complement their color schemes. Use several colors together, or different hues and shades of a single color. It also adds interest to use a variety of different candies (both wrapped and unwrapped) that have different textures and designs.
  • Use different sized containers to create height and depth that will give your table a unique look. If using unwrapped candy, be sure your containers are safe for food.
  • If you want, add other small desserts like trendy cake pops, cupcakes & cookies to round out the dessert offering.
  • Labeling each candy and dessert selection helps the guests know what they’re getting, but also adds a decorative touch. You can even trim the containers in ribbon and add other decorative accents to the table, such as a centerpiece, pretty linens, embellishments, and more.
  • Use your beautiful candy buffet for guest favors… this is fun for the guests and will save you money, too! Just add a tray of favor boxes or a basket of favor bags to the table and let the guests fill them with their favorite selections.

Here’s some items you’ll need:
  • Glasses in Various Shapes & Sizes
  • Glass Vases in Various Shapes & Sizes
  • Plastic Serving Trays
  • Nickel-Plated Serving Trays
  • Plastic Serving Tongs
  • Scoops and Spoons
  • Assorted Candy
  • Cookies, cupcakes, etc
  • Favor Bags
Shop for items above at the dollar store. They carry a great variety of all supplies that you need to create a fabulous dessert bar, from vases and decorative elements to cookies and candy. You may also want to consider repurposing some of your home decorative elements, and of course, put to use your baking skills.

Inspiration For Your Easter Celebration

There’s tons of great – and budget-friendly! – Easter party inspiration in this colorful “I Heart the Easter Bunny” theme from Debbie of Wants and Wishes… from adorable mini Easter baskets fashioned completely from paper to playful tissue paper flowers with beaded centers scattered around the table.
I’m loving the modern prints and patterns that she incorporated into the printable collection, which includes candy bar wrappers, drink flags, bottle wraps, and more. Everything about this set-up just looks bright and “happy”!

PARTY DETAILS, as told by Debbie

I’m excited to share my “I Heart the Easter Bunny” Collection! I wanted options you could use for a spring dessert bar or for a bright Easter basket. Instead of hanging a banner we placed banner letters on picks and had them at caring heights in “grass.” (We used wheat grass, it was inexpensive and you can find it at most local grocery stores.)

On the table I created tissue paper flowers with bright bead centers and jelly beans were sprinkled around for little delightful surprises. I found little round bowls at Crate and Barrel and knew they would be perfect to place a cupcake in! I placed “pink grass” from Hobby Lobby (they have new grass that is like batting, but so it much cleaner- I love it!) These cupcakes and mini Easter baskets were scattered throughout the flower patch. The Easter baskets had an egg tag “Easter- a good time to put all your eggs in one basket.” The Easter Basket can also be used as cupcake wrappers! Peep Bunnies were packaged as the favors with our favor toppers.
